OK I am getting really sick of dog shelters.

Every single one I e-mail (most of them ask that you e-mail and not call, or your inquiries will be ignored since the dogs are at private homes and not shelters) either gets back to me three days later after the dog has been taken or doesn't get back to me at all and lets me find out on my own that the dog has been taken. :( Yet another dog I wanted to meet taken, and nobody got back to me to tell me, just found out when I checked the website that he was no longer listed. If I hadn't been going back to the site to goggle at puppy pics I would still have my hopes up that they were getting in touch with me today.

I don't know, maybe it's a sign of being "animal people" and not "people people" that they do this, but a simple "I'm sorry, that dog was adopted" or possibly promptly removing the listings should not be that difficult. I even frigging send "I'm sorry, that item was picked up" on freecycle after I've posted that it was taken just so people don't hope they will get something. -____-

It's like they get my e-mail, they go "Oh crap yeah we forgot to take that dog off of the listing lolll" and they just remove it without saying a word.

jared does not like him because he looks sad and has "stubble" ie the black snout but i told him that he looks best when he has stubble and looks sad too. i need to quit comparing the dogs to him because that is when he realizes i am replacing him with a dog the most 0:)

Aw. I had never seen Are You Being Served? until someone recommended it to me and it came through my Netflix queue the past couple of weeks. I thought it was a very cute show, especially the first few seasons. I made the mistake of looking up the cast on imdb and the show seemed a lot more sad once I realized much of the cast had died.

I need to not touch imdb until I've made it all the way through things.

We went and looked at puppies from a not-for-profit organization today :)

None of them really stood out tonight as "this is the dog you must have," but it was interesting to meet them all. They had a beautiful 10-month-old husky mix that I kinda like, but Jared would rather start with a smaller dog that can grow into our home instead of introducing a giant dog to the cats and giving them mini kitty heart attacks. This adorable little old lady was petting him and almost crying that her house was too small to take him home. She said he looked a lot like a dog she had as a kid.

I hope to return next time they have a similar event.

:( I am feelin sad, the dog I wanted was adopted. As soon as I sent my application in he was removed from the website so I thought it was because they would call me or email me, but I never even heard a "he was adopted" from them. The rescue page said they'd get back to me but uhh I guess not. He was the only dog that had the markings I really like, none of his siblings really say "Jen wants that dog."

Jared and I were in the garage. He was dumping a dead beetle out of the cooler. I said, "Gross." At the time, my hand was in a tub full of roaches. I realized at that moment that my idea of gross is slightly skewed.

NERGHHHhhh today was a bad day!

A person on my favorite gecko forum lost most of her animals when her AC went out when she wasn't home :( So I am trying to help raise money (in secret) to get some of her critters replaced. If any of you guys saw something you like at my Etsy shop now would be a really opportune time to buy, as I could put the cash toward that goal.

Also I just got a message from Rachel saying she is on the way to the ER for a broken toe :( She stubbed it, looked down, and noticed it was in the wrong place.

Which would have made me barf immediately and then pass out if it had happened to me. Hurrgh.

OK I think this pup is adorable and he's local, too
though he doesn't look anything like an Aussie Shep

Now I am going to go watch The Descent because I am in that kind of mood. Jared won't be home until late so I will probably regret this decision later - I fell asleep alone around midnight last night without realizing I was even drowsy, and woke up to him in the bed (I have always woken up when he comes home before). Scared the crap out of me.

My quest to get a dog is not being helped by the absolutely moronic neighbors that for the past two days have decided to let their dog out at 6 AM to bark and bark and bark for hours, this makes Jared go "see what dogs do!"

Aw, little Pollo is up this morning and drinking from his bowl :) :) I really really hope the surgery helps hold his junk in place. If you want to see how rough he looked, he is in a vid here (you can shut the volume off because I talk in it yuk)

I also added two other pendants to my Etsy last night, hoped to get more done yesterday but I spent a lot of time staring at Pollo laying lifeless in his enclosure :P

The surgery my gecko is having today is a little (lot) past the "this is the fund for gecko emergencies" stash I had set aside, so any Etsy purchases are really appreciated :) I have 30 items available and will be adding a few more today.
